"Yous're My All-time Friend" is a vocal by the British stone ring Queen, written by the band's bass player, John Deacon, who wrote it for and about his wife. It was offset included on the 1975 album A Night at the Opera, and afterwards released as a single. The ballad[five] besides appeared on the Live Killers (1979) live album, and on the compilation albums Greatest Hits (1981), Absolute Greatest (2009) and Queen Forever (2014).
The song reached number seven in the Uk Singles Nautical chart and number sixteen on the US Billboard Hot 100.[6] It is certified platinum by the RIAA in the US with over i 1000000 copies sold. The song has since featured in goggle box, moving picture, and other media, such as The Simpsons and Family unit Guy.

Deacon wrote the song for his wife, Veronica Tetzlaff. In this song, he plays a Wurlitzer electrical piano in addition to his bass guitar work.[vii] The characteristic "bark" of the Wurlitzer's bass notes plays a prominent function in the song. During live performances, a Grand Pianoforte was used rather than an electric, and it would be played by Freddie Mercury, while Deacon played the bass guitar just like in the original recording. The song would be performed live past the band from the Summer Gigs 1976 Tour up to the cease of the Due north American leg of The Game Bout in 1980. Information technology was then dropped from the residue of the tour, and would not be played live again until after the death of Mercury.
The vocal was used in several Television shows and films such equally Hot in Cleveland, Will & Grace, EastEnders, My Name is Earl, The King of Queens, Proficient Omens, The Break-Up, the finish credits of I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, The Simpsons,[8] Shaun of the Dead, Peter's Friends, The Secret Life of Pets, and the Family unit Guy episode "Farmer Guy".[9]
Music video [edit]
The music video, directed by Bruce Gowers, shows the band in a huge ballroom surrounded by over ane yard candles, including a huge chandelier hung from the ceiling.[x] The video was filmed in Apr 1976 [10] at Elstree Studios, almost London. Additionally, Deacon is seen playing a yard piano rather than the Wurlitzer he used on the recording.[11]

The song was composed by John Deacon in the fundamental of C major with a meter of 4/4, in swing experience.[12]
The anthology A Night at the Opera features songs of numerous styles, including this 3-minute pop song.[3] Very unusual for the genre, there is no section appearing more than than twice; characteristic of many Queen songs, as affirmed by Brian May.[13] On the other manus, in terms of phrases and measures, there are numerous repetitions or variants. The form is cyclic and very like to that of "Spread Your Wings" (1977). Some other similarity between the 2 songs is the lack of (real) modulation. The arrangement features 3 and four-part vocal and guitar harmonies, bass (melodic approach), drums, and electrical pianoforte. This is Deacon's second recorded song and the first one released on single, some six months after the album-release. Mercury hits 2 sustained C5south in the lead vocal rails.

The band answered Tom Browne on 24 December 1977 in a alive BBC Radio 1 interview, regarding Deacon's control of the piano for the recording:
Well, Freddie didn't like the electric piano, so I took it home and I started to learn on the electrical piano and basically that's the song that came out you know when I was learning to play piano. It was written on that musical instrument and information technology sounds best on that. Y'all know, often on the instrument that you wrote the vocal on.

Greenbacks Box said that "the harmonies are smoothly designed to accentuate the hook of the chorus" and that "the vanquish is really good, on the edge of bubblegum, but however classy."[15]
